The village of Eining is a district of the town of Neustadt an der Donau in the district of Kelheim in Lower Bavaria. Eining belongs to the Hallertau. Until 1972, it was an independent municipality.
The settlement is located opposite the parish village of Hienheim on a steep riverbank, below which the Abens River flows into the almost northward flowing Danube. In the area of Eining and Hienheim, the previously wide Danube valley begins to narrow on both sides, and the Danube gradually cuts into the Jura. The village is regularly flooded by the Danube's high waters. The Weltenburg Narrows is located about 5 km northwest of the village. Regensburg is approximately 45 km to the east and Ingolstadt is about 30 km to the west. Munich is 95 km south of the village.
