Donau-Zollernalb-Weg - Etappe 2 von Hausen im Tal nach Gutenstein

Climbing rocks, the smallest three-aisled basilica north of the Alps and a well-restored ruin make this stage of the Danube-Zollernalb Trail well worth a hike.

In the Danube valley, rock after rock is lined up. This is also the reason why many rare plant and animal species, some of which are remnants of earlier ice ages or warm periods, have been able to survive here. Rocks are therefore generally closed to climbers. However, in order to enable climbing on the doorstep in a very challenging area, nature conservation, climbers and the Upper Danube Nature Park have worked together in an exemplary manner and jointly received the environmental award for the Schaufels project. The start of our stage to the "Schaufelsen" is Hausen im Tal.

The district of Neidingen is located in the immediate vicinity of the famous Schaufelsen. The district of Thiergarten has a special gem: the smallest three-aisled basilica north of the Alps. The Falkenstein ruins, a well-restored castle complex of the Counts of Zimmern, now with a wonderful barbecue and rest area, are an invitation to marvel. Just before Gutenstein, you can end the day on a bench high above the village.
