The Schläferskopf Hike takes you from the northwest of Wiesbaden deep into the green Taunus Mountains. This varied 16.6-kilometer trek is of moderate difficulty and combines quiet forest paths, rolling hills, and sweeping views with a touch of local history. The highlight is the Schläferskopf, loosely translated into English as the Sleeping Head : at 454.2 meters above sea level, it is one of the prominent heights in the Dotzheim district.

The name of the mountain refers to the dormice that used to inhabit this wooded area. An observation tower and a forest restaurant stand on top of the Schläferskopf, making the summit an attractive spot to take a break. From the tower, on a clear day, a sweeping panorama unfolds over the wooded Taunu slopes and towards Wiesbaden and the Rhine-Main region.

A special feature also lies hidden beneath the mountain: the Schläferskopf Tunnel.
