WWu Langsur - Trier - Konz

Cycle path for road bike or e-bike from Langsur (Messenich) to Trier and Konz. You'll cycle up some slopes through forests, vineyards, and fields along the way.
In total you cycle 65km with several meters of altitude.

The roads are car-free or car-free, such as along the Sauer (Sauer), Moselle and only along the Saar. In Trier and Konz you cycle on cycle paths.

You start from Mesenich (Langsur) to get to a wide cycle path along the Sauer in Metzdorf. There, the first ascent over the K4 starts from a height of 150 meters on the Sauer to an altitude of 370 meters on the Löberg.

Via the K3 it goes down to the Moselle in Eure (West Trier). Here you follow the cycle path along the Moselle to the Kaizer Wilhelm Bridge to cross the Moselle.

The passage through Trier is limited to the Nordallee and the Ostallee, where you cycle along the Porta Nigra. An excursion to the center of Trier is of course possible. Many streets of the old town are pedestrianized.

From Trier, you'll cycle past the amphitheater to the Petrisberg, where you can stop at the viewpoint to view Trier and its historic buildings from afar. On the Petrisberg you can take a break on the terrace at Monte Petris.

After the descent, you climb quietly along the Franzenheimer Bach to the village of Franzenheim. Then it goes firmly uphill on the L130 to the highest point of the ride in Pellingen. Here you turn left to the edge of the village to safely access the separated cycle path on the other side of the main road.

You descend via the cycle path and end up on the L139. You make a nice, fast descent between the vineyards to Krettnach. Via the L138 you cycle through the valley to Oberemmel.

From Oberemmel you will probably have to pedal directly to get to Kommlingen via the K136. The first part of the climb is quite steep. You also need to actively measure with e-bikes!

Afterwards it goes over the Konzer Berg to Konz. In Konz itself you can bend to get to the Saar. Alternative is a large road.
Along the Saar, follow the wide cycle path to just behind the railway and cycle guide bridge over the Moselle. This bridge takes you back to the other side of the Moselle and cycle towards Igel (west).

From Igel you start the last climb of the ride to get back to Mesenich-Langsur via the K1 and K2. Alternatively, you can cycle on the cycle path from Moselle and then Sauer to Mesenich, so you skip this last climb.
