ON05 Bremervörde-Kiel

5. Journey from Oekene to the North Cape: from Bremervörde to Kiel, 150 kilometers and 497 meters of elevation. The first part through the northern German lowlands and the polders is very flat. The last 60 km consists of hilly roads.

You follow the cycle path along the Oste and ride along the Upper Schiffenstelle until just before Nieder Ochtenhausen. The winding Oste is never far away, sometimes you simply pass it by, other times you are a bit further away from it. Then it continues over Am Rönndeich along a stream to Alterdorf. Then you cycle over Dornbusch, the Elbe island of Krautsand, the Schanzenstraße almost to the Elbe. Then along Wischhafen to the ferry across the Elbe.

After the ferry, you follow the Elbe downstream and then travel on the tributary Stör to Borstfleth. Occasionally, you cut off a runner from the Stör and ride to Neuenbrook. From Neuenbrook, it becomes hilly and you continue on country roads to Kiel.

In Kiel , you take the night ferry to Gothenburg.
