The Gryden Route

The route is 1.9 km long and the markings are yellow.

The route starts from the parking lot on Egebaksandevej and subsequently winds through Gryden in varying and hilly terrain. The name Gryden comes from Chamberlain H.C. Riegel's experimental planting in the dunes to combat sand drift, which is why you can also see his memorial stone at the beginning of the route. During your trip, you may be lucky enough to see descendants of the first sand stabilization plantations if you are interested in the area's history. The route also takes you out to the forest edge, where you can enjoy the view over fields and meadows. If the opportunity arises, you can also camp outdoors by using one of the two shelters in Tvorup Plantage and wake up to the scent of fresh nature. The route requires good walking ability, as it features many changes in elevation, large roots, and narrow passages, making it an extraordinarily beautiful journey. The route can be extended by continuing along Tvorup Hollow route, which is 2.4 km, making the full route a total of 4.3 km.
