Specific conditions
Generally, for the locations described here, there are no special facilities for kayaks, and one must use the beaches to enter and exit. The beaches are mostly stony, so plastic kayaks are fine for the area. It is mostly shallow water, and in many places there are large stones, often just below the water surface – even quite far from shore. So one must pay attention when rowing.
A trip to Vejrø is for more experienced paddlers; you should go in a group, and you must be sure of good weather.

From the bottom of Kagevig Bay at Fejø, it is about 9 km, but if you start by rowing to the tip of Skalø, the trip over open water comes down to about 6 km. If you use a nautical chart and plan the trip, most of the route can actually be placed in water depths where you can touch bottom, but currents and wind can make it a challenging trip.
