Sa Fosca is the name given to a section of the route of the Gorg Blau torrent, a torrent located in the Sierra de Tramontana, on the island of Mallorca. By extension, the expression "go down sa fosca" is used with the meaning of traveling totally or partially the torrent of the Gorg Blau, always including the dark section that has the ravine. Made for the first time in 1965 by the hikers M. Oliver, T. Suárez and B. Morey, it can be considered a historical decline since until then canyoning was not a technified sport since it was in the seventies when the great descents began to be made worldwide. The name of Sa Fosca refers to the final stretch of the ravine, a section in which the side walls reach such altitude and shape that the light does not reach the bottom and forces the use of artificial lighting for its route.
