The city walk therefore starts at the riding school Escuela Andaluza de arte Equistre. We take a short walk to the Bodegas of Sandeman (guided visit possible).
We pass a few parks, monuments and city palaces, and the large number of churches is striking, especially near the real Convento de Santo Domingo. We continue past, among others, the Casa Palacio de Dña.Petra de la Riva, s. XVIII to the Plaza de la Asunción. This square forms one of the most striking architectural and artistic ensembles in Spain , where three styles converge: Renaissance, Mudejar and Neoclassical.
We make a detour via El Gallo Azul and the Teatro Villamarta and the Mercado central de Abastos.
Via the ever-busy Plaza del Arenal and the impressive Iglésia de San Miguel on the square of the same name, we arrive at the Alcázar de Jerez with the beautiful castle and the Alameda Vieja city park.
The Bodega Tío Pepe is just around the corner, as is the Catedral de Nuestro Señor San Salvador with its free-standing bell tower.
We walk past a few chapels, monasteries and city palaces to the Plaza San Meteo with the church of the same name and pass the Palacio de Riquelm.
We continue past the Basílica Menor Nuestra Señora de la Merced and the Iglesia de Santiago on the square of the same name and pass the Zoobotánico Jerez on the Plaza de la Constitución with the colorful Iglesia Santa Ana.
We walk through a few parks and just before we get back to the parking lot we can take a look at the gardens of the Escuela Andaluza de arte Ecuestre.
Be sure to consult the information about the sights here once you are on site. They explain what you get to see!
