From the Pont des Tourradons (Vauvert) to the Cabannes du Roc (La Grande Motte) and back (21 km X 2

This route of 21 km one way runs along the Rhône à Sète canal. You can reach the Tourradons bridge by car or bicycle, then plan an additional 20 km (round trip) from Vauvert (30600).
The starting point is at the bridge on the north side of the canal. Depending on the weather conditions of the previous days, the ground can be dry to very muddy.
To reach your first tourist destination, simply follow this bank to the hotel-restaurant located at the junction of the canal and its diversion. If you pass the parking lot of this establishment, you can reach the Carbonnière tower.
After your first visit, take the paved road heading south. At the roundabout, drive towards Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer for 200 m and then turn right towards the towpath, just in front of the bridge.
This will lead you, with the first houses appearing up to Aigues-Mortes. This path will take you to a bridge that spans the canal; turn left to reach the southern bank.
Keep the canal to your right. Cross the first roundabout, opposite the city walls, and turn right. You may visit Aigues-Mortes now or upon your return. At the next roundabout, go straight ahead, cross the bridge, and then immediately turn right.
This small paved road will take you to the canal's towpath, which you will find under the town's bypass bridge. You are at the western bank, which becomes the junction of the canal and its southern diversion.
This way, you will reach the "river facility of the doors of Vidourle," cross the river via the pedestrian bridge.
Continuing along the southern bank of the Rhône à Sète canal, you will soon reach the Lunel-la-mer road bridge and then the Cabanes du Roc, which lie north of the large mound.
