We did this beautiful varied hike on 08.11.2023

The route is about 54% paved, but never gets boring due to the great variety of landscapes. The departure takes place from the spacious and free car park of the Kaul campsite.

We walked the hike counterclockwise, so we quickly followed the Wiltztal on a narrow path. A short stretch through Weidingen to continue following the Wiltz on the PC20 , a paved cycle path that starts in Kautenbach and ends at Benonchamps in Belgium. The Kautenbach-Wiltz 1b railway line is also affected. At the Paradiso stop, cross the railway tracks to return to the other side a little further through an underpass.

Shortly after the Himmelbaach you leave the PC20 and stay on a paved surface. Shortly before the Himmelbaach flows into the Kirel, you turn left into the forest to hike on dirt roads and paths through the forest to Erpeldingen. Along the way, you'll get a glimpse of the beauty of the surroundings here and there.

Once you have arrived behind Erpeldingen, you alternate between paved and unpaved roads. Still with beautiful views and surprisingly beautiful and narrow paths along a stream. The ruins of the Kaul sanatorium are also worth a visit.
