Last updated 10-Aug-2017: Hullekesberg was exchanged for the Holleweg Veluwezoom, the access roads from Westerbouwing-east and Bredelaan have been added.

The route begins at the parking lot of the Hoge Veluwe National Park near Schaarsbergen. First, you ride on bike paths alongside thoroughfares, then over open bike paths of good quality right through the Veluwe. After that, you enter the slope zone of Veluwezoom, but you also pass through the beautiful village of Ellecom, along the IJssel and through its banks (Havikerwaard), past some castles (Rosendael, Middachten) and beautiful farms (in the Havikerwaard and in De Steeg).

After the Veluwezoom with the beautiful (especially in August and September) heath field Herikhuizerveld, you ride through Arnhem-North. There are several access points here as well, but now through residential neighborhoods and park landscapes. After that, the route goes through Oosterbeek and the neighborhood 't Dorp in Arnhem, and then back towards Oosterbeek. Unfortunately, this also means bike paths along heavily trafficked thoroughfares, some traffic lights, and sometimes difficult traffic situations.

The route then continues through Oosterbeek and further west to Doorwerth. There are also several access points here (some of which are car-free), again a sometimes park-like landscape, quieter streets, and you also ride along the Lower Rhine. You can also briefly deviate from the route to visit Doorwerth Castle.

The route then leads north of Doorwerth towards Schaarsbergen, with a few more short climbs, sometimes over open bike paths and car-free roads.

The route can be shortened at various points. After the climb from Menthenberg-south, you can take the Bakenbergseweg to shorten the route to 73 km.
