El hospital es un hospital académico vinculado a la Université de Liège. Además del campus principal en Sart-Tilman, donde se han reconocido 625 camas, el hospital también tiene campus o departamentos en Chênée, Esneux y Fraiture-en-Condroz.
El edificio principal es un diseño del arquitecto belga Charles Vandenhove. Esta construcción se realizó entre 1962 y 1987.
