Watermill of Rufferdinge

The name Rufferdinge would refer to a Frankish landowner, Rupert or Ruffer. On the place where a water mill still stands today, there was already talk of 'the mill of Ruffertingen' around 1200. The current appearance of the mill dates mainly from the latter part of the 19th century. At that time there was also a brewery at the mill and it produced beer until 1924. The mill itself remained active into the 1960s. Today, the watermill - with intact grinding equipment - houses a Mill Museum and a Local History Museum.
