The nature reserve around Lake Virelle is the starting point for this beautiful hike through the Blaimont forest. The family-friendly loop leads into a quiet, remote natural landscape away from noise and hustle. At the end of the tour, the Aquascope at Lake Virelles (nature information center with bird and underwater observation, restaurant, and natural history exhibition) invites a visit. Nearby Chimay enchants with its historic town center and the magnificent castle, which is also accessible to visitors. The Chimay region is especially known for the Trappist monastery Notre-Dame de Scourmont, particularly for the Trappist beers brewed there—so even though the hike is short, one should definitely plan more time to explore the region's sights.
