Rondom_IJsselmeer

This route is plotted around the IJsselmeer. The route runs through a number of different landscapes: the old West Frisian sea clay landscape in North Holland, the young sea clay landscape of the modern reclaimed land (Wieringermeer and Oostelijk Flevoland), the Greidhoek in the west of Friesland, the boulder clay and sand area of Gaasterland in Southwest Friesland and the low peat area in the Noordkop of Overijssel.
The tour starts and ends at the parking lot at the beginning of the Houtribdijk in Lelystad.

This tour is part of a set of 16 tours that are intended for everyone with an eye for (the development of) the Dutch landscape.
In the Netherlands, 6 landscapes can be distinguished: loess landscape, sandy landscape, river landscape, peat landscape, sea clay landscape and dune landscape. The different landscapes are explored through 16 tours with mention of all kinds of scenic and historical sights / facts.
