Desteldonk is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Oost-Vlaanderen en een deelgemeente van de stad Gent. Tot 31 december 1964 was het een zelfstandige gemeente. In Desteldonk woonden anno 2007 897 inwoners.
Zoals het onderdeel "donk" in de naam reeds laat vermoeden, is Desteldonk ontstaan op een zandrug die van oost naar west georiënteerd is, aan de rand van het bekken van de Durme . De oost-westoriëntering van de zandrug is nog te herkennen in de bewoning van het dorp, die over een afstand van ca. 1,5 km gegroepeerd is langs de Rechtstraat en de Lindestraat.
