6. Tout encoquillé - Barvaux-Condroz (Havelange)

"Tout Encoquillé" ("fully shelled") was built in May 2018, a creation by Land Art artist Christian La Grange. A man from the region (Gesves), who mainly works on minimalist architecture, reducing shelter to the strictly essential. The artwork lies in a grove and is flanked by a mighty oak tree. The place immediately lights along the hiking trail "Les Sentiers d'Art". It is very quiet here.

"A nest to spend the night in, discreetly and bucolically located," reads the information board that accompanies this land art work. And it is. Simple but practical. You lie on a plank floor, bring a sleeping mat if you want to lie a little softer. Inside it is airy, with light rain you may stay dry, with persistent rain at night it may not be. Spacious for oneperson with backpack. With two, it just works. There is no access to water or other facilities, you are assumed to be self-sufficient. Building a fire is not allowed.
