Porte-voix or porte-voie - Stavelot

This work of art, " Porte-voix " (megaphone) or " porte-voie " (railway carrier) is a work in two parts by Jean-Pierre Bredo and Norbert Huppertz. The other part is in Trois-ponts.

It was unveiled in 2017 .

As part of the cultural cooperation between Stavelot and Trois-Ponts, the Cultural Centre conducted an extensive survey among the inhabitants of Stavelot and Trois-Ponts to highlight the links between the population, culture, art, social life, economy, tourism and all the special features of our semi-rural region.

The two artists took the results of the survey and reinterpreted them to create this original work. Many elements that make the people of Stavelot and Tripont proud are incorporated into the work : nature, water, Ravel, folklore, Apollinaire, the Coo power station, the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, music, the Trois-Ponts station, donkeys, rurality, etc. But also their needs: the need to reconnect, to improve their living environment and mobility, to respond to social injustices.

It is a technical work that aims to depict rural life with popular art using elements from electricity and energy , railways, agriculture, ...

The two works communicate with each other via the megaphone.
