This varied, rather flat route takes you along the expansive forests, ponds, babbling mills, and land dunes of the dune belt. You pass by the centuries-old village mill and through Bergerven, an extensive nature reserve with gravel lakes and typical flora and fauna. Especially the large grazing animals steal the show here. Konik horses and Scottish Highland cattle provide the grazing. Divert briefly off the bike path between junctions 37 and 38 and hike up the Oudsberg, the highest land dune in Flanders, for the best view of the day.
