WWu North Limburg Lommel 90km

Round trip from Lommel-Kattenbos through the north of Limburg, where you pass the following villages or towns:
Pelt, Eksel, Wijchmaal, Peer, Meeuwen, Hechtel, Koersel, Stal, Korspel, Beverlo, Leopoldsburg, and Lommel-Kerkhoven. You mainly ride through forests and fields along the junctions. Villages are avoided as much as possible. Therefore, there are deviations from the network of junctions here and there. You ride a total of 90 kilometers on paved, low-car or car-free roads with a limited number of elevation meters.
You pass through parts of 'Bosland', the largest adventure market in Flanders with some nature reserves in Lommel, Hechtel-Eksel, Pelt, and Peer.
There are some possible stops along the route. Highlights include the Zwarte Beek valley, cycling through the trees, and the German military cemetery in Lommel.

You start in Lommel-Kattenbos at bike junction 264 and ride through the forest towards Pelt.
This section goes a short way towards bike junction 265 but deviates a bit further from the bike junctions. Further ahead, you come back to the bike junctions and head towards junction 253 and then 254. Here you again deviate from the network to travel parallel to the North-South connection (N74) up to the next bridge over this road. This is done to avoid the center of Lindelhoeven-Pelt.
After that, you follow junctions 247 and then along the old railway bed from Overpelt to Wijchmaal towards 248. Then, you head towards 530 but deviate again briefly to avoid the center of Peer. You continue along 531 - 3 - 4 - 77 - 78 - 517 and 516.
From junction 516, you ride on a relatively new, beautiful bike path through and along the nature reserve of the Zwarte Beek valley to junction 518 in Koersel - Beringen.
You continue along and through the Zwarte Beek valley over Stal, Korspel, and Beverlo to Leopoldsburg. Here, you ride a very short distance through the center. Part of this runs on a wide bike path parallel to the railway. You follow junctions 518 - 310 - 341 - 342 - 554.
After Leopoldsburg, you continue following junctions 555 - 277 and a small piece of 275. You follow the Beverlo canal (Lommel Blauwe Kei - Leopoldsburg) on the western side, thus deviating from the bike junctions. You cross the next bridge over the canal and then follow junctions 275 - 272 - 255 and finally 264.
In doing so, you pass through Lommel-Kerkhoven and the military area of Leopoldsburg.
At junction 272 you can briefly deviate to do 'cycling through the trees'. Further ahead, you also pass the Ford test center in Lommel and the German military cemetery in Lommel.
