Potager des Princes

In the heart of Chantilly, in a 3-hectare historic park classified as a Remarkable Garden, the Potager des Princes features a flowering kitchen garden and a symphony of 25 different gardens. It's also a wildlife park, a real paradise for families!
A collection of parakeets, pheasants, peacocks and dwarf hens populate the living museum of the farmyard, along with dwarf goats and sheep.

The Potager des Princes is also home to a Japanese kitchen garden, the only one of its kind in France! This newly-created Japanese garden is the most diverse in France in terms of Japanese plant and tree species present in a single location. The garden and kitchen garden occupy more than a hectare of land, notably around a pond over which a traditional Japanese bridge passes. Nearly 450 species of Japanese perennials have been planted, as well as over 720 shrubs, making a total of over 1,000 new plantings.
During the walk, visitors can stroll along slate "Japanese steps" on the edge of a waterfall, admire a Japanese farmyard, cross a bamboo labyrinth, contemplate a Zen garden (often found at the heart of Zen temples, made up of rocks and wave patterns raked onto the sand) and, above all, discover France's first Japanese kitchen garden with 20 symbolic plants.

On the entertainment program, depending on the day:
Rabbit race, "The gardener talks to children" lecture and "Les fables du Potager" show.

-All Saints' Day vacations: park entrance + animal activities + Halloween activities, witch hunt.
-Christmas vacations: park admission + Guignol show by a professional puppeteer.
-February vacations: park admission + show.
-Spring vacations: park admission + animal entertainment + Children's Springtime.
