Monte Tiscali Archeological site

This walk brings you to the archeological site of the very nicely and well hidden Nuraghe village Tiscali on Monte Tiscali. The walk starts of from Ponte S'Abba Arva from where it is also possible to get into the deep canyon Gola di Goruppu. Once across the bridge and after a short stretch along the Riu Flumineddu, the walk takes you up steeply some 150m to the passes Scala de Surtana and Scala de Cucuttos and into the Doloverre Surtana valley. After a descend of some 100m a new and final climb of some 200m to the archeological site starts. This climbs have some passages that are not easy and require a level of surefootedness. Rather unexpectedly one is in front of this spectacular sinkhole, in fact a cave which roof once collapsed, in which the Nuraghe village is located. A fee (in 2023: €5) is to be paid to enter the archeological site. However, this enables to see the well chosen location of the buildings under the natural roof of what used to be a cave.
