You do the Cento Chilometri because you want to go beyond 100 km, in this case 104 km! The ascent over Vinci (along the golf course) and San Miniato (a beautiful historic town on a gentle hill) is not so difficult.

Then it goes up and down a bit, but ultimately we ride relatively flat into the center of Castelfiorentina. Once through there, we unfortunately have to go 5 km along a very busy industrial road to Certaldo.

But it's worth it! Because after that we reach the area of "Montebello," a region with hundreds of differently colored hills, all recognizable by a generous villa at the top!

The bite is clearly in the tail here: After some boring climbs (??) like the ascent to Montespertoli and the infamous Via Bottinaccio, we reach the finale: first we still enjoy the ceramic town of Montelupo Fiorentino and then the climb to Poggio dei Colli (via Porponi) begins from Capraia E Limite, which is really a challenge that requires your last reserves of energy. The descent towards Vitolini and Vinci is then a true gift... after 1500 meters of elevation!
