We took this beautiful walk on July 30, 2021. You can start from the parking lot on Homecht Street or An Der Sang Street, which has a spacious parking lane on one side. You can also take a walk to the train station, but an additional kilometer will be added.

For the route, we used the brand new pedestrian network "Projet Leader" in the north of Luxembourg. Information and a link to the hikes can be found on the Eislek tour page.

If you leave the parking lot on Homecht Street, you immediately have a beautiful view of Berg Castle. The castle is the main residence of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

The hike initially runs along a paved path that leads along the banks of the Alzette and then passes the birthplace of the Luxembourgish composer René Mertzig (1911-1986).

After that, it enters the forest, only to emerge again 10 km later. In the meantime, we follow the 'Schwartzbaach', then we follow the 'Helmeschbaach'. In the valley of the Helmeschbaach, several dams have been built that create beautiful ponds. Due to the varied vegetation, the forest is never boring.

In short, a beautiful walk in nature.
