From village to village – Woudenberg – Driebergen

Once you have walked this route, you will discover that the distance between these two villages is covered much faster than you might think at first glance. Not that there is nothing to see or tell along the way, on the contrary. From the town hall of Woudenberg it first goes past the village church and once you have left the built-up area of Woudenberg you enter the estate Den Treek - Henschoten. Entire generations from the Utrecht region (and beyond) have lingered on the shores of the Henschotermeer in the past and to this day. Bring back those memories, because this route also goes along the shores of the lake. (Dogs not allowed).
But also experience the crossing from the north to the south side of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. After the Henschotermeer, the path rises along an idyllic-looking 'alpine meadow' and passes the chalet 'Het Berghuis'. Then you come to the highest point of this route (52m). Then experience for yourself the gradual descent towards the rivers in the south. Obstacles also have to be overcome on this route: railway lines and motorways are always quite a challenge for walkers. This is also the case during this route. We ease the pain a bit by mentioning the origin and history of 'Het Hazepad' at that point.
Even after this passage we still retain the atmosphere of chalets and alpine meadows when we
Pass 'Little Switzerland'. Decide for yourself to touch the cowbells while enjoying a snack or to continue directly along an unexpectedly beautiful pond on 't Heihuis.
We enter the village of Driebergen over an estate where many social workers in the Netherlands received their education: Landgoed De Horst. Via the Hoofdstraat (the former Rijksstraatweg) you finally end up in front of the Grote Kerk in the center of Driebergen.
