The original Peace Route by bicycle from 2023 - signposted

The Peace Cycle Route can be found several times on the Internet... but only this one is the original route... because the route was drastically adjusted on March 9, 2023. The signage on those other routes does not match!

For example, the former route ran counterclockwise, while the signage in the field shows the route clockwise...

We start as close as possible to the highway at a large free parking lot. We can make an interesting stop at appropriate times for a snack and/or a drink. At the end of the ride we can immediately put our feet under the table in a nearby tavern at the parking lot.

"All" known valuable sights are included so that you really don't miss anything along the way. The most valuable were selected from the hundreds of sights. Only the sights that the route actually passes have been retained, except for The Brooding Soldier , which is unfortunately located about 150 meters off the route.

Start at the " Brother in arms memorial" , with ample parking and the taverns "De Dreve" and "De Lothoeve".

We provide 2 stops : on the beautiful market of Ypres and in Zonn ebeke, with its Paschendaele Museum and numerous catering establishments.

The route passes the important sites Hill60, the provincial domain De Palingbeek, the Menense Poort where the last post is played every day, the Carrefour Des Roses where the first gas attack was launched, the German military cemetery of Langemark (1 of 4 in Belgium) , The Brooding Soldier of the brooding Canadien (with a small detour), the old cheese factory, the overwhelming Tyne Cot Cemetery , the Paschendale Museum in Zonnebeke and the Polygone Wood sites.
