Ten lesser known côtes

This ride does not include the most famous côtes of the Belgian Ardennes, such as the Redoute, the Wanne and the Stockeu, but a dozen less famous climbs. The loop is located just west of the area with the most famous côtes, around the motorway from Liège to Luxembourg (E25). You will cycle mostly west of this road. This part of the Ardennes has more built-up area than most other parts of the Ardennes, but the roads of this tour are generally quiet. The landscape, offering a pleasant variation of forests, fields and meadows, is somewhat less rough than the landscape further to the northeast.

If you start at the "Harzé" exit of the E25, you will encounter the two toughest climbs between kilometres 50 and 60 along the route, so shortly after each other. These are the Col de Rideux-northeast and the Col de Roche-à-Frêne . Before that, you will conquer the following côtes: Parc Artisanale de Harzé-west , Niaster , Chambralles and Le Trou. After that, there are four more climbs: Bois de Harre , Chevron , Chession-south and Lorcé.
