B&B Ardennes Ardennes Flemish Country of the Hills on foot

From our B&B La Douceur de la Miclette in Ellezelles, the gateway to the Pays des Collines, we cross valleys, old farms and fields towards D'Hoppebos / Bois de La Houppe and then walk towards the Bos Ter Rijst in the Flemish Ardennes.

It is a beautiful journey through fields and narrow roads with a steep slope, where the Pottelberg with its 157m is the highest point of the region the icing on the cake. The road that crosses it, is very winding and crosses a beautiful beech forest.
In the center of the hamlet of La Houppe there are a few cafes where you can taste the local beers and eat tasty pancakes.

Then we descend through the Bos Ter Rijst to Maarkedal and through the fields we go to the Muziekbos to walk back to our B&B just before the Muziekbos.

The starting point B&B La Douceur de la Miclette is on the GR 122, GR 5A south, European Hiking Trail E2 which goes from the West of Ireland to Nice, route T4 and 2.05 route for horses.
