On the European Cycle Route R1 from Bad Belzig to Lutherstadt Wittenberg

Short Description

The approximately 41 km long section of the EuroVelo route starts in Bad Belzig in surprisingly hilly terrain. In the Hoher Fläming Nature Park Center in Raben, in addition to the regional store and an interesting permanent exhibition, there is also an R1 service point. Following the route south, you will reach the Roßlau-Wittenberger Vorfläming. The destination is the Lutherstadt Wittenberg with its historic old town.

Route Description

On this section, the EuroVelo route R1 mainly runs on well-developed asphalted cycle paths. Between Berkau and Lutherstadt Wittenberg, you will ride on compacted gravel roads. The route in the Fläming region is typically hilly, but there are no steep ascents.
Along the way, you will find several rest huts on the edge of fields and forests.

From Berkau onwards, the route of the EuroVelo R1 is marked with special ground markings (R1 logo).
