On the pilgrim's path through the meadows from Lahausen to Barrien

We cross the Lahauser Straße and enter the field path to the right of the riding stable. The pilgrim sign, an arrow on a blue background, guides us. We walk towards Barrien, passing by the farewell stone made of Obernkirchener sandstone, on which a scallop shell is displayed. Here we leave the Weyher area.

The Hache river is to our left, and at one point we come very close to it. Almost in Barrien, we cross the river and turn left into "Im Brook" for the return journey. We walk back, pass by two farms, and reach another riding stable. Here we turn left, cross the Hache river again, and finally come back to our starting path. The path is mostly unpaved and can be very muddy, but also sandy and uneven, as it's also used for horseback riding - so wear sturdy shoes.

We often see deer, with luck gray and white herons, buzzards, and kites, and in spring and autumn also cranes passing by. The view can wander into the distance. We are here on the Way of St. James, a section from Bremen to Osnabrück; if we follow the path, we will end up in Santiago de Compostela, the endpoint of the Way of St. James, after 1250 kilometers; we just need to follow the pilgrim sign. This hike can be well combined with the previous one, then it's about 9 km. To do so, simply keep walking along the "Im Brook" street until you reach the Lahauser Straße. Then you have to follow the bike path to the left for a while, cross the street at the last Jeebeler farm, and turn into the field path on the opposite side.
