Collegiate Church of San Pedro de Ager

The collegiate church of San Pedro is located in the Catalan town of Ager, in the region of La Noguera. It is within the castle walls, very close to the former palace of the viscounts.
In 1036 there was a Benedictine monastery in the place. In 1047, when the reconquest of the town was completed, Arnal Mir de Tost installed in the monastery a series of clerics from the region of Osona. Arnal himself was in charge of providing the abbey and obtaining for it the exemption from the bishopric of Urgel. Arnal de Tost came to offer Cluny the community of San Pedro as a priory although this donation was not consummated.
