The Maasduinen, De Hamert and Pikmeeuwenwasser

Circular trail through the Maasduinen starting at the parking lot near the hunting lodge at Hamer, Twistedenerweg 2 in Wellerlooi.

The path leads from the beginning alongside the beautifully winding little stream (Geldersch Nierskanaal). From the high riverbank, you have a magnificent view of the stream with various flow speeds. With a bit of luck, you might even see a kingfisher. Further along, you enter the Maasduinen with heath fields on one side and the Pikmeeuwenwater on the other. From a bench on a high dune, you have a perfect view of it. The path continues over a high dune ridge along the Pikmeeuwen sea to the Heerenven. Beautiful view over the lake, heath, and nature reserve. Through forest paths and sandy trails, you traverse the hilly wooded area shaped by the Maasduinen. There are benches with beautiful viewpoints at various spots.
