The circular hike begins at the parking lot of Brabants Landschap, Gemertseweg 36 in Oploo (access via Woon-werkgemeinschaft Bronlaak). The hike leads over 3 estates, each with its own distinctive design. From the very beginning, the route follows the estate De Groote Slink. This estate is designed in the characteristic English landscape style, with magnificent avenues, meadows, ponds, and forests with beautiful views of the stunning surroundings. Walking across a meadow and forest paths, one soon reaches the tea house. Here, there is a nice panoramic view over the meadows and forest edges. Further ahead, one arrives at the ponds, Groote and Kleinen Slink. The hike continues along forest paths next to meadows to heathland. There is a beautiful viewpoint with a bench that offers a view over the heath and meadows. The hiking route now leads to the estate De Bunthorst. This area was cultivated at the beginning of the last century as arable land and production forest. The forest mainly consists of pine trees. The former production forest is now mostly designed as a natural and open forest, also featuring deciduous trees. A beautiful area. Soon, along beautiful forest paths, one reaches a large heath area. Following narrow forest paths and broader sandy roads along forest edges and heath fields, one arrives at the third estate De Krim. De Krim is largely still in its original state, namely heathland, with a pine tree here and there and sand drifts. Walking along narrow paths through the heath, one has an excellent view of this beautiful and large nature reserve. The hike continues back to Bunthorst and onward to Groote Slink. While walking along the meadows, one quickly arrives at a very wide avenue, the "Long Walk", with oak trees on both sides. From this avenue, there is a view of the Villa Bronlaak. Further along forest paths leads to the other sight line and wide avenue, the "Düsseldorfer Allee". From here, the hike leads to the endpoint. On weekends (Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday afternoons), the village café is open, where one can enjoy a delicious drink and pastry. Additionally, there is a shop where one can buy homemade products. A beautiful and very varied hike through unique estates and cultural-historical monuments. An absolutely recommended excursion that should not be missed.
