An der Südseite der Kirche von Wezemaal sehen wir einige Steine mit länglichen, flachen Rillen. Diese werden 'Pestgruben' genannt.
Man vermutet, dass diese Rillen durch Pilger entstanden sind, die den Steinstaub aus der Wand schabten. Wezemaal war schließlich im Mittelalter ein bekanntes Wallfahrtsziel des heiligen Job. Die Gläubigen waren überzeugt, dass auch die unmittelbare Umgebung des Heiligen heilende Kräfte besaß und nahmen den Steinstaub mit nach Hause.
