Welcome to beautiful South Limburg and in particular to the municipality of Vaals, During this route you walk along these places full of history and memory. You will discover the history of the Jewish community of Vaals.

The route "Joods Vaals" does not only dwell on suffering, deportation and murder in the forties of the last century - although this occupies an important place. Via the route you can see that a Jewish community existed in Vaals since the middle of the 18th century, which remained largely hidden and can be discovered.

During this walk you will get to know the beautifully situated Jewish cemetery, the oldest building the municipal tower, the stately Von Clermont house and castle Bloemendal, the colorful Koningin Julianaplein and the Center for Art and Culture in the historic Kopermolen. In addition, there is of course plenty of attention for Vaals' Jewish past through information panels along the way.
