Skagen è un centro abitato danese situato nella regione dello Jutland settentrionale sull'estremo settentrionale dell'isola di Vendsyssel-Thy. Fa parte del comune di Frederikshavn.
Nei dintorni di Skagen, frequentati da turisti, è presente Grenen, una lingua di sabbia che si estende verso nord-est nel punto in cui i due mari Skagerrak e Kattegat si uniscono, generando turbolenze che rendono difficile la navigazione. Per questo motivo appositi cartelli sanciscono il divieto di balneazione. Spesso è possibile assistere al caratteristico scontro delle onde provenienti da direzioni opposte.
