Irsen

The Irsen is a 35.5 km long left tributary of the Our in the Bitburg-Prüm district of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The Irsen springs about two kilometers west of Heckhuscheid at an elevation of 536 m above sea level. The source is located in the Irsenfenn on the southwest slope of the Dackscheidberg within the municipality of Großkampenberg and about 600 m south of the border with Belgium. The Irsen initially flows south between the municipalities of Großkampenberg to the east and Lützkampen to the west. After about four kilometers, it veers southwest, takes in the Primmerbach from the left, and passes east of Harspelt and Sevenig, and west of Roscheid. After another four kilometers, it turns southeast towards Irrhausen. There it takes in the Mannerbach from the left, flowing now in a southern direction until it reaches the Daleidener district of Falkenauel. Here, it encircles the Burgberg, then takes Heimbach and Mühlbach from the right at the Machtemesmühle belonging to Preischeid. Flowing southward, it passes Affler and Übereisenbach and empties into the Our west of Gemünd at an elevation of 233 m above sea level.
