The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a hereditary constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system located between Belgium, Germany, and France. Grand Duke Henri I has been the head of state since October 2000.
It has been part of the European Union since March 25, 1957. Therefore, it is one of the founding members. Together with Belgium and the Netherlands, it constitutes the Benelux.
