Das Krankenhaus ist ein akademisches Krankenhaus, das mit der Université de Liège verbunden ist. Neben dem Hauptcampus in Sart-Tilman, wo 625 Betten anerkannt sind, verfügt das Krankenhaus auch über Standorte oder Abteilungen in Chênée, Esneux und Fraiture-en-Condroz.
Das Hauptgebäude ist ein Entwurf des belgischen Architekten Charles Vandenhove. Dieses Bauwerk wurde im Zeitraum von 1962 bis 1987 errichtet.
