This route meets three objectives, namely enjoying the landscape, cycling on quiet roads and working hard during climbs. The landscape is typical of the Ardennes, a lot of variation of forests, fields and meadows, and sparsely populated but decorated with beautiful natural stone houses. The route includes a number of roads with wide views, in particular the section between Reharmont (after 30 km of cycling) and Saint-Jacques, a few passages near Wanne (from 40 km) and the long descent of the Rosier to the starting point of the loop in La Gleize and the continuation thereof (the first few kilometers of the tour). In this part of the Ardennes the differences in altitude are relatively large. This is also reflected in the, given the distance (82 kilometers), large number of altitude meters (1950). The côtes that you bike along the way are often tough but none of them ranks among the top 40 of the Ardennes.

During this ride the following côtes are climbed: Xhierfomont-east , Bierleux Bas, Ancienne Barrière-west, Wanne-south , Amermont and Rosier-east.
