Short and intense through the climbing paradise

If you have less time but still want to climb a lot, then this route is recommended. Over a distance of 57 kilometers you climb 1460 meters in altitude. That comes down to an average of 26 meters in altitude per kilometer. It will be difficult to make a loop in the Ardennes that surpasses this. The route is located on both sides of the river Amblève near Stavelot. Here the differences in altitude are considerable (maximum of about 350 meters) and the roads are often steep or very steep. In the latter category fall three côtes, which you will encounter in the round proposed here, namely the Thier de Coo (15% for the steepest 300 meters), Les Hézalles (17%) and the Stockeu (15%). The tour contains hardly any more or less horizontal sections.

If you are not too exhausted, there is utterly beautiful scenery to enjoy along the way on the almost everywhere quiet roads. Among the most beautiful sections are the descent from the Rosier to La Gleize and the kilometers near the village of Wanne.

During this tour you will climb the following côtes: Amermont, Rosier-east, Thier de Coo, Les Hézalles, Wanne-southwest and Stockeu.
