Castle Geyen

Geyen Castle is a former water castle in the Pulheim district of Geyen, which has existed since the 14th century. It is located at the northern exit of Geyen towards Pulheim.
The Geyen water castle is an approximately square complex. The arrangement of the buildings reflects its former function as a customs house on the border of the Kurköln and Jülich territories. At the northern and western corners of the courtyard, there are a round and a rectangular tower. The inner courtyard can only be accessed via a stone bridge on the north side, as the castle was previously surrounded on all four sides by moats fed by the Pulheimer Bach. The slots for the chains of an earlier drawbridge are also still visible.
