Route Wilde13 Mill Tour LK Harburg

A scenic, wild route along 13 mills in the district of Harburg. The route can be interrupted at 4 pit stops at the Horster Mühle, in Sudermühlen, in Dierkshausen (Café) or Lüllaus Dorfkrug. There are about 23 mill buildings in the district of which 5 are privately owned. 13 facilities still have a water wheel. Among these are 2 hydroelectric plants with turbines that are not visible. The other wind or water mills often provide a parking area.

1. Start and end is the highway interchange Dibbersen from the A1 motorway and you visit the first windmill in Dibbersen.

2. Heading south through Sprötze and crossing the Lohbergen heights, you'll come to the first water mill in Holm, with a parking lot right in front of the Seeve bridge.

3. The next windmill is located in Kampen, from there you head north towards Moisburg.

4. There is an opportunity to visit the museum at the water mill Moisburg.

5. From Moisburg, through the Harburger mountains, you arrive in Hittfeld at the windmill (parking available).

6. Next, you go to the Karoxbosteler water mill, which also served as a sawmill.

7. After that comes the Horster mill, with parking behind the Seeve bridge, which, when open, offers a good opportunity for a meal.

8. Once this detour is accomplished, the next mill, a hydroelectric plant, can be visited in Winsen.

9. The next special hydroelectric plant is located at the Luhekanal in Luhdorf, in front of it there is a canoe facility installed.

10. Then the route leads to the next windmill in Eyendorf (parking available).

11. It continues quickly to Sudermühlen. Here many individual horsepower are on the move, for which there is parking and gastronomy available.

12. A special mill follows in Dierkshausen - the former watermill is now just a weir - but a coffee mill is operated in the building next to the Heide coffee roasting plant (café for a break is also available).

13. The watermill stands directly by the pond of the Dorfkrug in Lüllau. The pond has a spring that enables water supply. (You can get supplies at the Dorfkrug).
