The Cretaceous cycle route takes you to the most beautiful places in South Limburg. During this cycle route you will discover the calcareous and green surroundings between Maastricht and Valkenburg. From Maastricht you work your way up from the Maas valley to the Plateau of Margraten. On this plateau lies the Curfsgroeve with its lime kilns.

In marl town Valkenburg you will experience marl above and below ground. Tourist attractions are the castle, the catacombs, the open-air theatre and the quarries. The oldest quarry is prehistoric and the youngest is still active.

You can park and start at the parking lot of the Brasserie Bie de groeve (Gemeentebroek 15, Meerssen).
