Aqua Magica and Eggeberg (day tour HF2)

This circuit shows the contrasts that the Herford district offers. Urbanity meets rural seclusion and tranquility. Starting from Bad Oeynhausen, you first leisurely ride through the Sielpark and along the Werre river. After passing through Löhne, you then head up from the river valley to the Eggeberg, which offers a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape towards Herford and Löhne. A rest area here provides the opportunity to rest from the climb. This is followed by a long descent down to the Mittelbach, which powers the water wheel of the Rürupsmühle. On the mill site, lovingly restored by the association "From Grain to Bread," you can linger at the mill pond or explore the farmer's garden. The route then follows the Mittelbach to the "Park of the Magical Waters," the Aqua Magica. The park was created for the State Garden Show in 2000. From there, you will soon reach the starting point of the tour in the center of Bad Oeynhausen.
The route mainly runs on lightly traveled roads, independent bike paths, and paved agricultural roads, some of which are closed to through traffic. This makes the circuit suitable for families with children.
