ZR1 enjoy - Hönow to Rehfelde

On the feeder road to the European long-distance cycle path "R1", there is a lot of interesting things to discover in the S5 region of Märkische! Diverse places amidst picturesque landscapes right in front of the gates of Berlin invite cycling enthusiasts to a "trip to the countryside". The tour starts from the subway station Hönow on the "ZR1" to Altlandsberg. The historic city center is particularly impressive with the ensemble of city and baroque castle church, reconstructed brewery and distillery, and manor house on the castle square. The journey continues, passing by the Bötzsee beach in Eggersdorf, through shady mixed forests to Strausberg, where adventurers can take a detour to the ClimbUp climbing forest. From here, you reach the nature reserve Herrensee, Lange-Damm meadows, and Barnim slopes with its unique flora and fauna to Rehfelde. The ZR1 now meets the European long-distance cycle path "R1", where experienced cyclists can continue to the Märkische Schweiz. Those who wish to end their tour now have a connection to Berlin with the regional train RB 26 from the "Rehfelde" station.
