On the Steps of the Counts

With the remnants of its 14th-century castle, classified as a Historical Monument, Frauenberg stands as the highlight of this walk. During this hike, your steps may lead you along the paths once taken by the masters of this territory, circling their property or hunting on their lands. With the first mention of the castle in 1371, in which Frederick of Sierck calls himself lord of Frauenberg, over time it became the property of lords and counts who succeeded one another in these places. The Jewish cemetery and the historic circuit of Fraunberg add to the points of interest in this charming little village in Moselle.

A pedestrian link between France and Germany, the Friendship Bridge over the Blies offers a stunning view of the river and the village's old mill.

On the heights overlooking the Blies Valley, you will also have the opportunity to admire the planes and gliders taking off or approaching the Sarreguemines-Neunkirch airfield.
