La reserva natural Buckowseerinne se encuentra en el área del municipio de Schorfheide en el distrito de Barnim en Brandeburgo. Está dentro de la reserva de la biosfera Schorfheide-Chorin, que abarca 1291 km².
El área con el número de identificación 1450 fue declarada como reserva natural mediante una orden el 24 de mayo de 2004. La reserva natural de 511 ha con el Gran Buckowsee se extiende al noroeste del núcleo urbano de Eberswalde. En el borde occidental se encuentra la A 11, a través del área pasa la carretera estatal L 238 y al este la L 23. Hacia el suroeste se extiende el Üdersee de 73,5 ha y al noroeste el Werbellinsee de 765 ha.
