Balgerhoeke is a village in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village is located along the Schipdonk Canal on the border of Eeklo and Adegem. The settlement along the west side of the Schipdonk Canal adjoins the village but is part of Adegem. Balgerhoeke is an independent parish. Although Balgerhoeke has the appearance of a real municipality while driving through, it has never been an independent municipality.
